Help bring our girls home!

Friday, June 15, 2012

Today marks 20 months of "wait time" in our adoption process.  Although we never dreamed the time to wait for our referral would be this long, we are still very committed to adding to our family through the gift of adoption!  Our daily excitement when talking about our little girl grows.  The wonder of who she is, what her story is, what her Ethiopian name is, how curly her hair is, are all questions we hope to have answers to one day real soon.
Currently the wait time increased to 18-24 months for a child under 2.  So sitting at 20 months seems like a good place to be.  However, I can think of a much better place...having her home.

  1. Well I think maybe I'm the first to post on your blog so I feel honored! This blog is awesome! It will be a wonderful way to keep all your family and friends informed! I've been praying for you and your baby for a very long time. I'll give you a verse which you probably like: James 1:27a "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this; to look after orphans and widows in their distress. " Your child is so blessed to be coming to such awesome parents and wonderful caring brothers and big sister! SOON!!

  3. I was just talking about the Klaasens and their wait for a child from Ethiopia the other day with a friend who is just starting the process of international adoption. It is wonderful that you are just as determined and dedicated to this call of God as you were when you started. Will certainly continue praying for you all. What a fine family you have right now, too! Your kids are all growing up so strong in Christ! God is so good to us! God has more in the plan for you all than you can even ask or imagine... (Ephesians 3:19)
